JAMSHEDPUR DIOCESAN EDUCATION SOCIETY

Jamshedpur Diocesan Education Society officially came into its existence on 8 th December 2006. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act 21 of 1860, Jharkhand. The registration number is 529/2006-2007.

The mother body of Jamshedpur Diocesan Education Society is The Catholic Diocese of Jamshedpur / Jamshedpur Diocesan Corporation which was erected on July 2, 1962.

In Jharkhand, it encompasses the civil districts of Dhanbad, Seraikela-Kharswan, East and West Singhbhum, excluding the parish of Bandgaon in West Singhbhum, in Bokaro the Chandankiyari Block and the portion of Chas Block which lies in east of the National Highway 32 and in West Bengal it covers the district of Purulia. The subdivisions of Chaibasa, Chakradharpur and Seraikela in the West Singhbhum Districts.

The main objective of JDES is Formal and Non-Formal Education, Health and Social Work. We promote equality among all.

OBJECTS / PURPOSE & ACTIVITIES:

DIFFUSION OF USEFUL KNOWLEDGE: To diffuse Social, Religious, Secular, Scientific Knowledge and to inculcate Social, Moral and Religious values.

CHARITABLE WORKS: To establish, manage, administer, carry on and conduct all educational and allied activities, charitable and religious works and activities associated with said institutions hitherto carried on.

EDUCATION:

a) To establish, conduct, manage, maintain, administer, close down, or dispose of schools, Colleges, Hostels, Education Societies that are owned by the society for the benefit of all, irrespective of religion, race, community, caste, language and social status and to have inter unit exchange of staff and finance for the betterment of the institutions under the society.

b) The Society is formed by the members of the Christian Community for the purpose of establishing and administering educational, vocational and other institutions of its choice as per the Provisions of Article 30 of the Constitution of India. The primary objective of the Society is to enable the Christian Community to conserve its religion, culture and language and impart sound education to the children belonging to the Christian Community. Although the Institutions run by the Society have the primary responsibility towards education of the children from the Christian Community, the institutions of the Society are open for admission to children from other communities as well.
